Letters

Do you remember hand writing letters - to friends, family, as thank you's or invitations or just plain ol' 'this is what I've been up to...'? I can remember having a penpal in England, way back when I was in junior high. How cool that was, to receive those periodic air mail envelopes from across the ocean!

Fast forward to 'now'. I do emails, Facebook posts - and occasionally send letters to our grandkids or pen a thank you to someone, tuck notes in with cards. Then, a friend posted a link of Facebook that intrigued me .. I checked it out & the simple card shown here is my second month of sending a "love letter".The site is The World Needs More Love Letters - I love it! I've not begun leaving random 'love notes' out in the world, but, I'm getting there. Who couldn't use a random act of love?

I've been working away on swap pieces that are finally being mailed out tomorrow. Yea! Here's a little peek ... more will come when I know they're all with the recipients. And once I've received my last one, I'll share pictures of those, too. Gotta love "art mail"!
To all who've left comments on my giveaway post - thank you! And welcome to my new followers!! Thank you for joining in the fun here!

  1. I rarely write letters now. When John was at uni we wrote to each other practically every day term time for 3 years. I still have them. When his mother died we found a huge box of letters she had received in the second world war. One day we are going to sort hough them.

I had an American pen friend when I was at school she lived in Oregon she was called Ruth-Ann McGinley and I thought it was so nice that she had a hyphenated first name. I thin it must have stuck with me because I called my daughter Elizabet-Anne.

I think it's a shame that people don't write to each other any more unless it's via email. We won't have the "hard copy" history that we used to have.
I shall check out you link

  2. Love the sneak peak and your card is very pretty! Gone are the days of sending very many letters..penmanship is horrible is my biggest reason...gets to be painful just holding a writing instrument at times. But I do have an older friend who writes periodically and I do send short notes inside a handmade greeting card monthly to a few people. Does this count?
